Yes! We use the open‑source
@imgly/background-removal library that runs entirely in your browser. There are no API calls, no hidden costs, and no limits on the number of images you can process.
Small (~10 MB) is fastest, good for simple subjects.
Medium (~20 MB) balances speed and quality – recommended for most photos.
Large (~50 MB) gives the best edge detection for hair/fur but takes longer. The model downloads once per session.

The AI model (10‑50 MB) is downloaded once to your browser. Subsequent images will process much faster. This is the trade‑off for complete privacy – no server ever sees your images.
JPEG, PNG, and WebP up to 10 MB. The output is always a transparent PNG. For best results, use images with clear subjects and good lighting.
